Ford Motors is aware that Washington wants to have the ability to sell vehicles at high volume so they can be manufactured in high volume. In turn this will to create jobs, spending money and help the economy is what the President is trying to do. The high cost of gasoline made the electric vehicle more desirable, but now that prices have fallen, has complicated the necessity for electric vehicles.
As technology grows, so make cars so if you think this is a big step with today's vehicles, wait until the future when things start to really take off, not only with the batteries, but with everything else from inside to outside. It really is an exciting time here in the U.S..
