"Shaken, not stirred.
No: steamed vegies with skinny latte. The tag line for preferred fictional British agent James Bond, Martini is a cocktail of corny ice-breaker. What most people may not know about Bond is the man who loves food as he loves his wife. In the book Diamonds Are Forever, Bond tells Tiffany's love if your idea of a girl is one who can make Bearnaise sauce, and love.
But what exactly does a man may die, while saving the world eat? And can enjoy simply because civil as Bond, and not live to die another day?
James Bond is a character created by Ian Fleming in 1953 and has since lived adventure in 12 books, 2 collections stories and 23 movies. The serene and quiet murderer saves the world and smooth its way through the casinos with the same ease as a free fall of buildings high – the closest thing to a real life superhero, anyone can aspire to be.
In fact it is much easier for mere mortals to eggs Benedictine, instead of entering a Soviet embassy or become a lesbian to heterosexuality. That's why Fleming wanted the reader to taste the life of Bond, if not through their blood and sweat, then through what I ate:
My contribution to the art of thriller writing has been the attempt total stimulation of the reader through all the way, even your taste buds.
In one of the many descriptions of dining, Fleming is delivered to reader with the richness of the breakfast routine of Bond:
Sitting up the time, breakfast in two cups of black coffee, from De Bry New Oxford Street, made an American Chemex and an egg served in an egg cup dark blue with a gold ring around the top, boil for three minutes and third. There are also whole-wheat toast, butter and a selection of Jersey Little Scarlet jam 'Tiptree' strawberry, Cooper's Vintage Oxford marmalade and Norwegian Heather Honey from Fortnum and Mason, served on blue china Minton. Breakfast is ready by May, his Scottish housekeeper, whose friend supplies speckled eggs French Marans hens brown. [From, The James Bond Dossier www.tjbd.co.uk website]
As you can read, there is little more than a name drop, but Fleming did not received any entries, this was before he had product placement in film squeezed its lingering shots and Omega watches BMW cards.
Why Fleming what do the eating and drinking as a focus in his writing as well as a description of the battle scars and the circus of the cowardly villains? Come if Bond ordered Caesar salad, hold-the-mayonnaise, bacon and croutons, is any woman who wants to go to bed with their non-ABS-carb? A man's man is a fanatic meat, an expert on how dangerous and rare. Willing to risk the wrath of the protectionists of the world caviar, beluga-blini is released in the mouth covered with nearly as much at fault appears after the Walther PPK got back into his holster.
What is your favorite food would be Bond? Something big, as smoking of venison with raspberry confit and truffle oil jus Rosti, or would be more in Bangers n 'British' 'Mash'? It's a little in mid-simple, quality ingredients prepared with care, 'so'. There's even a recipe for Fleming's James Bond for scrambled eggs humble.
Throughout his travels around the world, Bond flavors of local cuisine as well as samples of local women. When the CIA counterpart Felix Leiter in the U.S., eating Little Neck Clams and Fried Chicken Maryland. Cold langoustine in France, Italy, green tagliatelle. Universal anywhere, anytime, is the staple food oysters, beluga caviar, eggs (Benedict XVI, in concotte, scrambled) and any variety of grilled meat with potatoes.
In general, Bond eats pretty well, a good balance of protein and carbohydrates. It also feeds on fruits such as fresh figs, strawberries and pineapple. His aversion to sauces cream-based snobbery is instead of health, believes that masks the taste of bad meat quality. This is not a man to eat donuts in an ambush.
But the fall in style life is alcohol, cigarettes and coffee. And not just because of the drugs strapped to her as Dr. No.
Drink
By the time Operation Thunder (9th volume) Bond daily intake of spirits is about half a bottle. Not to mention with other beverages such as champagne of brands mentioned: Dom Perignon, Bollinger, Taittinger, Veuve Cliquot y.
Fleming describes the role of alcohol in 007 of life:
"Drink relaxed Bond. Your government not only was to get drunk, but maybe in 20 years had just gone to bed cold sober. His other rules were not drinking at lunchtime or after dinner and not drinking. "
The 'Website Atomic Martinis' calculated that Bond has had 431 drinks with more than the standard as his Martini cocktail poison of choice, such as the Vesper, the old, the Negroni and Americano.
No wonder he had developed his own hangover cure of "oyster Prairie '[egg yolk, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, vinegar and tomato sauce].
To stay awake for long patrols, Bond was drinking coffee, usually a mix of names thrown straight black Jamaica. Despite being in the secret service of his Maj, tea was described by Fleming, through Bond as a "plane, soft, a waste of time the opium of the masses. "
Smoking
In the film version of You Only Live Twice, Bond uses a Q-branch Cigarette secret explosive weapon to cause distraction to him long enough to sabotage the rocket fire. This was not the only danger of cigarettes, Bond smoked 60 a day of products as special mix of the Balkans and Turkey with three gold bands on the filter.
If civilians were to live the same lifestyle except, no ski slopes of Switzerland and swim with the sharks, no doubt our liver is pickled, and our lungs crackling in an overdose of smoke. The rich butter dishes based on fish and shellfish would result in fat clogged arteries, although preferred ingredient of the eggs can counteract this.
However, having a license to kill means to live each day as the last. Sure, the liver and the heart is likely to have a short countdown and a nuclear explosion imminent at Fort Knox, but Bond needs the energy to fight the murderers, to seduce the ladies, and the pursuit of evil. He's fiction. In real life would be a chubby, mumbling alcoholic with poor blood circulation.
But, as Bond in You Only Live Twice:
I'm not going lose my day trying to prolong them, I will use my time …
So one night as James Bond will not hurt.
But do not cook for yourself, as he recommended [Web page: Club El Comandante]
Show no knowledge of how food is actually prepared. You've never cooked in his life. What you eat is provided by the Scottish treasury to keep the house for you or a girl or a restaurant. In your world, a meal appears, is consumed and vanishes.

///// The Vesper ///////
This cocktail was developed by Bond in honor of Vesper Lynd, the double agent's love interest in Casino Royale. Bond states that he called drinking "The Vesper", because once you tasted it, was everything I wanted to drink.
"A dry martini," [link] said. "One. In a deep champagne goblet. "
"Oui, monsieur."
"One moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half-pint Kina Lillet. Shake very well until frost, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Understood?
"Certainly, sir." The barman seemed pleased with the idea.
-Ian Fleming, Casino Royale
NOTES:
• Kina Lillet is no longer available. Use instead Lillet Blonde or Dry Vermouth with a hint of bitterness.
• For the more hardcore real drink, use 100 as evidence of Vodka by the standards of 1953.
• Use a champagne glass is a martini glass.
Stone Crabs ///// /////
Bond crabs ate greedily while dining employer Mr. Du Pont in Goldfinger.
Stonecrabs The meat was the tenderest, sweetest shellfish he had ever tasted. It was perfectly set off by the toast and slightly burnt taste of the melted butter. The champagne appears to have the slightest smell of strawberries. It was cold. After each portion of crab, champagne to cleanse the palate the next. They ate steadily and with the absorption and did not exchange a word until the source explained.

Green figs with yogurt ////// //////
When visiting Turkey, Bond knew which foods were just as tempting as exotic dancers. Ally eats figs Darko Kerim Bey T Station, in From Russia With Love:
"Yogurt, a blue porcelain vase, the dark yellow with the consistency of thick cream. The green figs, ready peeled, bursting with ripeness, and Turkish coffee was jet black and the burned taste that showed he had been freshly ground.
Green figures stewed in honey with vanilla, lemon and thyme Enthusiasm [From http://www.spicelines.com]
To serve two
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon water
1 6-inch vanilla (I prefer Mexican)
2 or 3 strips of peel lemon
1 sprig lemon thyme (or any other of thyme)
8 oz fresh Calimyrna or other green-skinned figs
Method:
1. Wash figs and pinch the stems. Cut them in half and set aside.
2. Split the vanilla bean in half lengthwise and cut each half into 2 or 3 pieces.
3. In a small saucepan, combine honey, water, vanilla bean and lemon zest on the lowest flame. Stir to dissolve the honey and turn off the heat. Add figs, gently pull the honey mixture and let marinate, covered, for an hour.
4. After an hour, add the lemon thyme. Turn on the fire to a minimum and simmer gently figs 30 to 40 minutes, turning them carefully so they will not disintegrate, but they are just cooked. Remove the pan from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
5. You can eat the figs now if you will, but they are even better if you leave them overnight to make vanilla syrup and lemon juices, infusions that have oozed. To serve, divide the figs between two plates and spoon the syrup over them pale pink. Serve with Greek yogurt, for course, and coffee. Very black.

Described in the exciting Fleming Cities
.. . The Edwardian Room at The Plaza, a corner table. They knew there, but he knew he could get what he wanted to eat — not like Chambord or Pavillon with Wine and Foodsmanship irritating and, in the case of the latter, the miasma of a hundred different women's scents to confound your palate. Should another dry martini on the table, then smoked salmon and scrambled eggs particular had once (Felix Leiter knew the maître) instructions how to do:
For four individualists:
12 fresh eggs
Salt and pepper
5.6 oz of fresh butter.
Break eggs into a bowl. Beat well with a fork and season well. In a small copper (or heavy bottomed skillet) melt four ounces of butter. When melted, pour in eggs and cook over very low heat, stirring continuously with a small egg beater.
While the eggs are slightly more moist than it would like to eat, remove the pan the heat, add remaining butter and continue whisking for half a minute, while adding the finely chopped chives or fines herbes. Serve on hot buttered toast in individual copper dishes (for appearance only) with pink champagne (Taittinger) and low music.
